Building upon its reputation and expertise as an industry leader in the delivery of utility Demand Side Management (DSM) programs, Competitive Resources (CRI)is now recognized throughout the utility industry for its excellence in providing professional and timely resource management services. With comprehensive industry experience and skilled personnel, we offer the in-depth and innovative solutions needed to succeed in today’s changing utility environment. Well over 95% of our business has been directly associated with electric, gas, and water utility-sponsored programs. CRI has developed a solid reputation and unparalleled expertise in the continually evolving field of DSM systems development.
The principals of CRI have extensive program planning and design experience, having prepared residential and commercial implementation plans for Northeast Utilities, Yankee Gas, Potomac Electric Power Company, Consolidated Edison, Boston Edison, Connecticut Natural Gas, and the former New England Electric System. Review of the services provided under the Residential and Commercial headings above will provide an excellent summary of the skills the CRI team can bring in terms of implementation capabilities.
CRI staff have previously been under contract to the United Illuminating Company and Connecticut Light and Power Company to service their ENERGYSTAR Initiatives in Connecticut. Our responsibilities included: recruiting retailers to participate as ENERGYSTAR partners and helping to promote the value of purchasing energy efficient lighting and appliances to consumers. Providing dealer training, point of purchase display assistance and sponsoring special events are among the duties CRI performed in this operation. Our involvement with these types programs dates back to 1989 when we conducted the Blue Ribbon Appliance efficiency program on behalf of Northeast Utilities.
Finally, CRI has provided personnel to utility clients to fulfill both short term and long term manpower needs. Examples of this service include: administrative employees, meter readers, experienced energy efficiency advisors for trade shows and community events, field employees to promote educational efforts, and manning of the utility-sponsored SmartLiving Centers.
