The wealth of immediate capabilities is a crucial advantage in delivering timely, cost-effective, customer-oriented services for any client. Competitive Resources, Inc. (CRI) firmly believes that our in-depth understanding of energy savings opportunities and practical mechanisms for meeting program needs offer a unique contractor partnering resource. The summary included below offers an overview of our project experience:
CRI staff has overseen residential programs that deliver cost effective lighting, DHW measures, weatherization, and envelope improvements to over 8,000 homes annually. We offered clients complete turnkey services, from program planning to program delivery and evaluation. Among our current and former weatherization clients are, Commonwealth Gas Company, MidAmerican Energy Company, Northeast Utilities, Public Service Company of Colorado, Potomac Electric Power Company, United Illuminating Company, and Yankee Gas Company.
CRI has provided personnel to utility clients to fulfill both short term and long term manpower needs. Examples of this service include: administrative employees, experienced energy efficiency advisors for trade shows and community events, field employees to promote educational efforts, and manning of the utility-sponsored SmartLiving Centers.
CRI has performed residential energy audits on behalf of both gas and electric utilities for many years. In some instances, courtesy energy efficiency measures are installed as part of the process to offset the cost of the audits with some measurable system benefits.
CRI staff has provided commercial energy audits and implementation services for the Detroit Edison, Consumers Power, United Illuminating Company, Southern Connecticut Gas Company, Green Mountain Power, Yankee Gas, and Northeast Utilities. For many of these programs, CRI auditors utilized commercial analysis packages such as the Energy Analysis System (EAS). Other audit activities have included the Connecticut State Lighting Project and an exhaustive engineering analysis of the Yale University campus, United Illuminating’s single largest customer. Further, our staff members have overseen the installation of lighting equipment in thousands of commercial and institutional facilities.
CRI has developed a solid reputation and unparalleled expertise in the continually evolving field of Demand Side Management (DSM) systems development. In cooperation with “Collaborative” planning consultants, our staff has pioneered the development of comprehensive standards and systems to meet the extensive internal and external reporting requirements for DSM programs.
The principals of CRI have extensive program planning and design experience, having prepared residential and commercial implementation plans for Northeast Utilities, New England Electric System, Yankee Gas, Potomac Electric Power Company, Consolidated Edison, Boston Edison, and Connecticut Natural Gas.
