CRI Customer Benefits From Home Energy Audit: Case Study

Veronica Crook, 81, is a long-time customer of Connecticut Light and Power. She lives in a 2-story condominium which includes an attic and two bedrooms, and, depending on the season, may take a significant amount of money to heat.

When Mrs. Crook received a mailing with her monthly energy bill that advertised free Home Energy Audits by CRIPrograms, she decided to give it a try and see if an audit would reveal ways for her to save on heating costs.

Her dwelling, while cool in the summer, required an excessive amount of energy to heat in winter. The Home Energy Audit showed marked room for improvement: like many other homes, Mrs. Crook’s condo could benefit greatly from window and door weatherization and home insulation. CRI also briefed her on ways to make use of hot water more efficient, lower lighting costs by getting energy efficient light bulbs, and more.

The client was extremely satisfied with the service, and immediately recommended the program to her neighbor.
