Competitive Resources Inc. (CRI) will donate up to $50,000 to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund. CRI, a Wallingford-based energy efficiency contractor, is an authorized Home Energy Solutions provider for The Energy Efficiency Fund in partnership with the Connecticut Light and Power Company (CL&P) and the United Illuminating Company (UI).
As part of the HES program, CRI’s certified technicians will make energy saving improvements that include identifying and sealing air leaks and drafts, installing improved lighting and water-saving devices, identifying inefficient appliances, insulation, and heating/cooling systems, and providing valuable information on available home energy rebates, tax credits and low interest energy efficiency loans.
CL&P and UI customers who have CRI perform a home energy assessment will receive an average of $700 in services and installed products that will help make their homes more energy efficient and lower their energy bills by an average of $200 annually.
Through June 30, 2011, or until funding runs out, CRI will donate $50 for each customer who completes a home energy assessment and mentions the Japan Relief Fund.
CL&P and UI customers can schedule an appointment by calling 888-403-3500 or by going to www.criprograms.com.
