Professional Background
Mr. Richardson has responsibility for all of Competitive Resources’ the financial affairs. Having worked in the banking, utility, and public accounting industries has provided Mr. Richardson with the tools necessary to ensure that CRI remains on course as a financially viable service provider. As a founding principal of CRI, Mr. Richardson’s role as CFO has been to develop reporting mechanisms for the company to accurately track the costs and revenues of all projects in the various branches and corporate offices. In addition, he prepares regular reports for the upper management and operations staff to ensure that projects are operating on budget thus providing an ongoing tool for measuring the success of our various contracts. Mr. Richardson is also responsible for various financial related activities such as insurance and benefits. In addition to his financial responsibilities, Mr. Richardson participates in the business development and planning aspects of CRI.
Selected Prior Work Experience
Regional Director, General Business Services, Florida 1995-1997
Responsible for developing business opportunities in the State of Florida. Activities include recruitment and sales along with the development of GBS Business Counselors. The company offers professional accounting, tax and business counseling services to small and medium size business. After more than tripling in size over a two year period, the practice was sold in late 1997 so that Mr. Richardson could devote additional time to the needs of CRI and its customers.
Vice President Intercoast Energy Co., Davenport, IA 1992-94
Mr. Richardson provided services to restructure the company’s financial and real estate investments and went on to establish and manage the business acquisitions and development group. In this capacity, he established a system that provided at least one new deal opportunity per day. In addition, he directed the due diligence process for the business acquisition opportunities which materialized and represented the company on the boards of businesses.
Senior Vice President, Carteret Savings Bank, Morristown, NJ 1990-92
Mr. Richardson headed up a five-member workout team which managed a $240 million problem loan portfolio. Included in the portfolio were both corporate and real estate loans.
Vice President, Barclays Bank PLC, New York, NY 1985-90
Mr. Richardson had complete account responsibility for restructurings, collections, legal and accounting matters and negotiations. Worked with oil & gas, computer, shipbuilding, steel, food service, vending, and heavy manufacturing industries.
Gen. Manager-Finance & Assist. Controller, Delmarva Power & Light Co. -Wilmington, DE
Mr. Richardson managed functions of investor relations, financings, leasing, financial reports, budgets, financial planning and analysis, and taxes. Directed an $8 million accounting system design and installation and restructured the accounting department. Other duties included rate case testimony, union negotiations, and creditors committee chairman.
